Driving to the tip of the Leelenau peninsula, we visited the state park and Grand Traverse light house. These old stoves are magnificente, with all types of clever attachments from the bread drawer to the sock dryer.

The stairs to the second floor made the trip up the tower seem like a cake-walk.

A trio of art critics debating the merits of this particular piece -- it got points for a bug on top.
The lighthouse: Bigger on the inside.
In one of the buildings was a display of John Wagner's photos. He flew throughout the state and took aerial photos of every lighthouse.
This is the first real slide Will had ever been on, as they are deemed too great a liability risk in our local parks and have been replaced with puny plastic pieces. The highlight of the trip for the boy.
The Williamsburg Mill -- still operational, though the supply channel was undergoing repairs, this day. Will saw the sign and said, "I see I'm world famous, now."
Heading back down, we saw these rows of vines lining the hills and thought we should investigate three times. The children did not find this entertaining, but we did.
I can't claim a sophisticated palate, but I can claim to have enjoyed and appreciated a number of wines in the past several decades, but few from these vinyards, nor the ones around Niagara -- no doubt Euros and Calis will have something to say as to why. Not to say it isn't worth the stop...
