Will, in photos

It may sometimes seem that Will is an only child, but that is because the other two either duck away from the camera, or have formally forbid posting of their visage.  Will, on the other hand, often asks for a photo to be taken, to document important moments in his life.

A few weeks ago, he really wanted to go to McD's, as they were including Skylander toys with the happy meals.  If you don't know what skylanders are -- they are something that you should not mistakenly introduce an obsessive 5-year old to, without properly researching the degree of investment that will eventually demand.  That is, stay away.

The particular McD's by our house, is one of the few that still has the climbing equipment for little ones.  Will usually avoids it because of conflicts that often arise with nasty, unsupervised demon children, however, on this trip, there were several very sweet children and all got along very well.  The oldest -- the girl, standing -- took the initiative to organize several games:  Tag, hide and seek and Marco-Polo.  They had such a great time playing together that we stayed for 2 1/2 hours!  Jared, who came for the fries, was not pleased, but a good sport, nonetheless.

At the zoo, we always stop by the aviary, specifically to see Will's favorite, miniature scarlet macaws -- here, perching on his collar.

This is not Will -- it's a sloth.  I forget his name, but this is the most we've ever seen of him.  According to zookeeper, even by sloth standards, ours is particularly slothful.

One of the instances where Will felt it was important to have a photo taken, serenely sitting beside the hop-kickin' frog statue.

Here, he is greeting one of his friends.  He is an unabashed tree hugger -- there was a small town west of Ionia, where we stopped through several of the museums, shops, and ice cream parlors, and the street was lined with trees -- Will stopped to greet each one.  Consequently, walking one block took thirty minutes...  Not complaining...

On the computer, like big bro!  Probably playing minecraft -- if you don't know what that is, it's a never ending series of downloads and mods.

Getting ready for college, perfecting his toga dance with partner, pillowbob squarepants.

And, of course, baseball.  He absolutely loves baseball.

And the games are hilarious, with 3-5 year olds, squirming and squiggling, and playing in the dirt...  Occasionally someone actually gets out -- I think we've had 7 total outs so far this year.

Will at the plate.

A rare moment in the dugout where the team is actually sitting on the bench.  This was the first and last time.

Tiny opponent sprinting for first!

Occasionally, it's just too much, and one of the little guys will just lie down and take a nap.

At the home depot -- Will always likes to check out the kitchens.

On mother's day we went to the Hudson Mills metropark for a wildflower nature hike.  In the middle of may, of course, we are still experiencing snow showers, so it was rather abbreviated and there were few, yet in bloom.  One of the best was this lovey rue anemone.

We tried to shield Will's view from the playground, but he sniffed it out, and we spent a few chilly minutes investigating the strange web of climbable objects behind the nature center.

Like his brother, he is impervious to cold.
