Huh. What are these two up to? And what might possess the one who is never photographed to allow her photo to be taken?

Oh, that's right, we had a concert on Sunday!
Initially I wasn't looking forward to it because I am old and tired but by the time we hit the road I was getting excited because
Tegan and Sara actually were coming back even after that last debacle in Royal Oak.
There were four bands playing, starting with
Kadawatha, a Swedish band with a Sri Lankan front man. Very high energy and some interesting songs -- stylistically very Euro rock.
They were followed by...
New Found Glory! Who knew those guys weren't dead!
I don't think the mostly young, mostly female crowd quite got what they were about but I find them quite entertaining... Ari said yuck and Jared, eh.

And then, the highlight of the show,
TEGAN AND SARA!! WHOOHOOO!!

As (I believe) Tegan pointed out, this was the first time they have ever toured in support of another act and I wasn't sure how a majority 8 -15 year old crowd would receive them, but it was well with obviously quite a few fans in the audience.

Coincidentally, the two guys that were directly in front of us in the line for merchandise at the Royal Oak concert -- memorable because they were so geeked to be at a
Tegan and Sara concert -- were also seated (again in front of us!) just to our right!

They opened with You wouldn't like me, played Northshore, The Con, Walking with a ghost, Nineteen, Directing me, and Alligator tears among others (that I can't remember).

It's
Sara!!

They weren't very cooperative with the lighting, sticking with moody blues, yellows and reds, so getting zoomed photos in focus was difficult, especially for
Tegan who would just not sit still.

Singing Northshore!!!!
Tegan's hat has been cast away!

They were definitely in a better mood for this show (you know, no one verbally assaulting them or throwing various objects..) and their back and forth was absolutely hilarious.
I could have left then and the blond shirt guy did! But Ari came equally for
Paramore, who, evidently, is also a band.

As Ari says, I'm not exactly their target demographic (of course, you know, not really Tegan and Sara's either..) and I embraced the old guy bringing his daughter to a concert role, sitting down with earplugs in for much of the show.
Despite unfamiliarity and advanced age... The band was really tight and Hayley brings a tremendous amount of energy and has a really remarkable voice.

She also comes across very down to earth and
is a Tegan and Sara fan: How fun must it be to pick bands you're a fan of to take on tour? That's pretty cool.

We actually stayed the entire 4 1/2 hours, picking up about half way through the last song, okay with the kids as they were pretty exhausted by that point.

To top it off, we found the car right off, and, being one of the last in, easily made our way to the freeway without any wait!

Such an awesome Dad to stick through a long concert for his kids. Will and I enjoyed our evening together as well!
Eh, it's good for the old guy to get out now and again..
Ari was not tired. Ari was jumping up and down and singing the whole time.
I took those awesome Paramore pictures, by the way.
Haha! The boys were tired. And you did get some great shots.
