Pictures from our day at the park.
We began with a stroll to look at the wildflowers.
These could be purple loosestrife.. Just past that bank of leaves, lies a steep decline through plentiful piles of poison ivy down to the river, which, followed to the left leads to the great blue heron rookery. They're probably past nesting at this point anyhow..
I picked a queen anne's lace and asked the kids what they thought it smelled like. They thought dirt.
The park has some great swings, big enough for the biggest kids as well as some great big slides, really tall but really slow with a shallow slope.
One very happy swinging boy and someone thoroughly enjoying a slurpee.
