Spouse-ally ordered addendum

The old town hall. It has been turned into a Clinton Township museum. There are several archeological digs documented within including the really neat Moravian excavation from a few years back plus the history of the canal locks. A brief history of the area here.

We also finally found out why there are "plank" roads like Romeo Plank Road, in the area. Quite obviously, it is because they were plank roads.

And the log cabin: This was an old home located diagonally just northeast of its current location. Several years ago the property owner wanted to get rid of the house so he could build and office complex. He offered the house to the fire department for a training burn.

At the time, an addition had been added and the logs covered with clapboard. When the fire department began to prepare the building to burn, they discovered its remarkable hidden construction and donated it, instead, to the city for our little historical village (now, two whole buildings!).

So it was moved across the street and returned to its original condition. The volunteer asked the children if they could imagine all sleeping together in one room.

Let's see how bunking up is going:

Seems to be going okay!

So the boys were, "yeah, whatever." Ari ran shrieking out of the cabin!

We decided to follow her out and took a stroll behind the senior center where the township maintains a dog park. Will ran over to the fence, mirrored by a little pup and the two started racing back and forth.

And that lasted until William turned the corner and spied the greatest wonder of the Earth!

Sudden stop! Eyes open wide, mouth drops, engage engines and bye, bye pup!
A mound of grass covered dirt! Or, a sledding hill.

Up he ran..
Then down the other side...
And then he crashed.
The end
