Tales of a Train Ride

So, Ari and I travelled to Chicago for a girls weekend with her girl scout troop. The train ride there was very exciting as 9 little girls anxiously awaited their arrival at American Girl Place.

The train ride back was much different as Arianna and I took an earlier return on Saturday night due to her being sick. When it is only you and your daughter for 7 hours on a train and she is asleep in your lap, you put your head back, close your eyes and take in the sounds around you......

The little girl, probably around 2-3 years old, who excitedly ran up and down the aisle way, screaming out excitedly as her mom looked on.

The father and son who just spent the last 9 days touring, via train, the southwest and were now discussing who would be buying the Piston playoff tickets for the remaining games. Then there was the call they received that their car, which was parked in front of a friends house, was a victim of a hit and run. The son disappeared for the rest of the ride. We later found out he didn't want to sit next to his dad for fear that he would be complaining the whole time about his damaged car.

The Church Minister who had been transferred to Milwaukee for 2 years for another job but was trying desperately to keep his church in Michigan running smoothly in his absence.

Then there was the lady sitting in front of us who spent most of the train ride trying to determine if a bag she left at Union Station had been located and turned in. Everything in this bag was work related...

It's amazing how you don't mean to listen but you get sucked in to their world, their lives, as you all are together, trying to pass the time, as you wait patiently for your final destination.
