the mighty hunter

The hound licks his nose, beside a section of orange peel that he bravely hunted out of the kitchen sink.

A treeing walker coonhound is quick to bite, and will vigorously defend its bounty, chomping down on approaching hands with a bite force of nearly half a pound per square inch!

It is best to divert their attention with a noise or alternate treat, or, in this case, he wandered off after being distracted by a hallucination.  The retriever lumbered over and ate the peel.
