Guess Who's Back?

...No really, guess....cuz I am wondering too!

So, I noticed that Dan took over The Crew and started blogging about all of that neurosciency stuff....I admit, he warned me he would do that....and I should know by now to take him seriously....but, alas, he beat me to it.

Though he did upload those hilarious (isn't it hilarious???? - That's a Will-ism) videos of William.  That boy cracks.us.up!!!

Now there is no way I can catch up on everything that we have done since my last blog post, so here's some bullet points for a few things and then some pictures of recent happenings.

And I promise (pinky swear) to update the blog at a minimum of once a week.  Set my expectations low and be pleasantly surprised when I exceed!

  • June - school year ended and Dan's family all came in to town at the end of the month for a big ol' family reunion.  We also found out that Dan's younger sister is having a boy (and that will be in about 4 weeks or so now....can't wait!)
  • July - headed north to camp in Mackinaw for 8 glorious days.  Weather was perfect - too perfect....some days the heat was a bit much.  But it was awesome!  And I sunburned - not awesome.
  • August - Had to look back at my calendar to see if we did anything of great significance....and we really didn't.
  • September (part 1) - I officially now have a high school freshman, a sixth grader and a preschooler.  WAH!!!!!!!!
  • September (part 2) - ran my first 5k. Dan ran with me. It was also our 17th wedding anniversary on the same day.  It was exhilirating.  And I am looking forward to my next (not yet scheduled) race.
  • September (part 3) - Said our goodbyes to my Grandma (Gammie) who peacefully passed away on the 19th.  We will miss her but know that she is better now as she had been so sick the past few months.  It's hard on my Papa who misses his companion of 70 years (they would have celebrated on October 7th). I am so blessed to have had (and still have) my Grandparents as long as I did and to have my children have that special relationship with Great-Grandparents.
  • September (part 4) - Jared turned 11 and entered the "tween" phase on the 27th.  Though, he is such a laid back kid....I don't expect the tween/teen drama from him.  That's fine with me - his sister provides enough of that for us!
  • October - I love October...the falling temps, the falling leaves, the falling Lions.  We're excited to be cheering on the Tigers in the World Series. October also ushers in my favorite time of year....Thanksgiving and Christmas.  And have I mentioned that I am more than 50% done with Christmas / December birthday shopping????  Yes indeed - and it's an awesome feeling!
Ok - now on to some pics....because I know you only come here to see my adorable kiddos.

Ari picked out some new specs.....this was quite the battle between she and I.  She won.

Jared has joined the band at school.  He is playing his Dad's french horn.

Our fire department hosted an open house for kids last weekend.  This little guy and I made our way over....and not just for the donuts (though that was an added bonus)

Our garden was quite awesome this year.  But the tomatos were very slow to ripen...we had to actually pull some still green ones off the vines last week when we had a freeze.
Just curious - does this tomato remind you of anyone?
Really - any guesses at all?????

Ok - I did it.....I posted. I promise to not let Facebook take me away from our blog again.

Fumble on the field
A lion team that always yields
And when the blue and silver fade,
Stand and cheer the quave:

Bah, bah, bah.

Go hard lose the game
dishonored, games are all the same
Down the field in vain,
No lion's victory
