Turkey Day Prep

It is the Monday of Thanksgiving week....so much to do, so much to be thankful for.

I am thankful that all of my immediate family is within a 15 minute drive and I get to spend all of the holidays with them without any kind of travel or time commitment pre-planning.

Lauren is hosting Thanksgiving this year as she will be slightly busy around Christmas.  Hey, I had that same excuse in 1997 and 2007!  But what I love about my family is that even though you are hosting the holiday, we all pitch in and share the cooking and prep duties.

This year, I am charged with part of the desserts (yes, we do multiple desserts...), a side dish (baked mac and cheese because the kids really like it) and I am throwing in an appetizer just because!

So we will gather early afternoon at Lauren's.  We'll watch the Lions hopefully serve Green Bay their first loss of the season and we will feast!

And then as in years past, Mom, Lauren and I will be at the stores at 5am on Friday!

I am not much of a turkey fan (ok, stop throwing your giblets at me).  But I LOVE all of the side dishes....squash, stuffing (Mom, you are making this, correct????) , mashed potatoes (Lauren's specialty), cranberry relish, my mom-in-laws sweet potato and apple casserole.  Ugh, I can just see the springs in the bathroom scale popping out.  But it's oh so worth it....

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THANKSGIVING DISH?

Sounds like you guys have AMAZING Plans!! Can't wait to hear how it all turns out!!

We are staying around here, trying to cross things off our TO DO BEFORE BABY list, etc. We are bringing a dessert and some creamy corn (corn + butter + cream cheese= awesome) to a dinner with some friends on Turkey Day.

My favorite dish?

I love a nice helping of stuffing...and mashed potatoes...and some deviled eggs!! YUMMMMMMY
