Mid-Week Brain Dump

  • Jared has a shortened week this week due to first quarter parent-teacher conferences. Therefore today is his Friday.

  • Yes, I do look forward to having 2 days of making 1 less lunch.

  • Dan took today off of work. He has some days he needs to use before the end of the year and Ari has an orthodontist appt this afternoon. Seemed like a good day to take off.

  • He and Will are cleaning leaves out of the rain gutters at his parent's house this morning. Such good boys...

  • I debated enjoying a day off with him. But I don't do the whole leaves in the gutter thing.

  • Arianna has reached about 13,000 words for NaNoWriMo.

  • Dan also signed on. He is somewhere around 15,000.

  • I see a family battle ensuing.

  • I cannot bring myself to listen to Christmas music yet.

  • But I am already thinking about Christmas decorations.

  • And I am plotting which cookies to bake.

  • Gina is taking religious education classes at Church. In last night's class, she had to draw a picture of someone that she is thankful for. She drew ME!!!! I'm sure that had nothing to do with the fact that she stayed over on Saturday night and I took the kids to Dairy Queen for ice cream treats after dinner :)

  • Dan changed the password to the computer in order to cut down on the sneaky use of it by a certain 10 year old. Guess who forgot the password???

  • Is it bad that it's only 9:45 am and I am thinking about lunch?

  • I am also thinking this work day needs to end soon.....that's probably even worse than thinking about lunch.

  • I have about 2 hours this evening that it's just me and the boys. Dan and Ari are going to a write in session at the library for NaNoWriMo.

  • I am thinking I may take them to an indoor bounce house. It's cold and rainy here today - seems like a perfect outing!

  • The halloween candy in our house is just about gone. This is a new record. Normally I am dumping the picked over candy by Christmas. I think this year, we may have pre-dumped that which we thought would be leftover and just left the good stuff....ya know, the chocolate!

  • Mom bought me a box of Frango chocolates a few weeks ago. I put them in the freezer and take one out here and there. Amazingly, half the box is still there. I don't think the kids know about this....ssshhhh....don't tell them.

  • I wish I had a frango right now.
