- knowing that she is surrounded by her family as she makes her transition to the immortal life.
- when she takes that next step, she will be reunited with my grandpa - a reunion that is 50 years in the making.
- that happily ever afters don't necessarily stop when you stop living on this earth, they may just be paused for a bit.
- that the choices we made this week allow her to die as she lived, with peace and dignity.
- that we have wonderful friends who have stopped in or actually work at that hospital and gave us a reprieve from our sorrow.
- knowing I can spend time there because my kids are being well taken care of.
- that my husband understands I am where I need to be right now and he has fully taken charge of maintaining the home front.
- prayers and well wishes from family, close friends, co-workers, hospital staff.
- knowing God has a plan for her and after 96 years here, she is ready for it.
We still have a long road ahead of us as we prepare to say our final goodbyes and then try to figure out how we live without her here.
God Bless.
