The title of the previous post was a lie

Verbascum thapsus. It is very common along the side of the road, on construction sites and in meadows. That is because it can produce more than 100,000 seeds per plant. Wow!

The leaves and flowers of the plant have a myriad uses, especially for those with respiratory problems.

What is usually found is something like this:
Not nearly comparable to the beautiful speicimen we fostered at the old home which topped out at about 4.5 feet with resplendant foliage:

But behind one of the lighthouses we visited, (and, while dead) were some of the most magnificent mulleins I have ever seen, peaking around 8 feet, some of them branching off like a saguaro!
A veritable otic utopia!
