Flowers of Northern Michigan
Fen grass of Parnassu, Parnassia glauca.
I can never get a good shot of these but they're really elegant and have such a great name to boot. These flowers are disappearing in many northeastern states but are still widely distributed in Michigan, especially the boggy parts up north that used to be Lake Michigan.Obviously some sort of Rudbeckia, probably hirta or some similar coneflower:
Black eyed susans are one of my mother's favorites.
Another Asteraceae, lovely Meadow Scabish, Symphyotrichum puniceum, formerly Aster puniceus.
