I know the feeling! We planted a bunch of native wildflowers and only two types survived: sunflowers and we're not sure what the other one is. Also, you may find this helpful for your gardening. I read a research article recently that said interspersing sunflowers with crops helps attract insect eating birds. I'm going to try that next year.

Yeah, I planned to have a great garden with veggies and flowers interspersed. At least the herbs are providing some nice flowers.
