Can't see the carrots for the forest

I had a brilliant plan, this year, to plant tomatoes/peppers/herbs in buckets and tubs with new earth to cut down on the weeding since we are strictly organic, i.e., labor intensive gardeners.

As with every other idea, brilliant plan or get-rich-quick scheme I've devised, this failed spectacularly,

demonstrably proving my level of cognitive function on par with a cartoon villain.

There's been a lot of media mention of glyphosate-resistant pigweed overwhelming southern farm crops recently and, while we don't spray and this isn't the same pigweed, it is obviously a glyphosate-resistant pigweed sympathizing pigweed intent on de-stabilizing our farming efficiency.

Curse you, Perry the Platypus!
