Once upon a time...

As previously mentioned, we were allowed to chauffeur Ari to her first concert a month or so ago. Tegan and Sara are one of my favorite (favorite) bands and best of all, one of my other favorite bands, Steel Train, opened for them. How great is that?

Furthermore, opening for Steel Train, opening for Tegan and Sara was Michigan native Holly Miranda. Holly puts on a great show –live – she has an incredibly dynamic voice. For whatever reason that doesn’t translate so well onto her album, sadly.

But the whole show was fantastic and more so because it was at the Royal Oak Music Theatre which was one of my favorite hangouts when I was younger.

This was also terrifying as it was at the Royal Oak Music Theatre which was one of my favorite hangouts when I was younger.

I warned Ari there could be some interesting people at the show, considering the location and recalling my experiences…

As stated, the performances were absolutely great. The crowd...

Tegan and Sara later twitted their whole tour had been wonderful and the audiences fantastic – save for one cold, weird mid-western town after which show they, Steel Train and Holly Miranda had to spend the rest of the night dancing and drinking to shake the weird vibe.

Also, after the concert, one brilliant patron managed to get thrown out as they were exiting. Nice job, genius! It takes a special kind of person to get thrown out at the exit of a Tegan and Sara concert.

And that was my daughter’s first concert experience..

Fortunately, Tegan and Sara are returning this summer to a well policed venue where (gloat, gloat, gloat!!!) we have front row, center seats. Tegan, Sara and Paramour, thank you for braving a return, we promise not to throw our undergarments at you and also will not ask to bear your offspring.
