Carving out a niche

Brighton had an old willow tree at the entrance to the campsites that had rotted to the point not much leaf remained. And so it was decided the sesquicentarian would be chipped but concluded as well that tribute should be made to the haggard sentry.

Thus an evidently internationally renowned master of chainsaw wood carving was chosen.

The remnants were split, top half perched down the road

and supplanting the tree, a turtle.
