It's Raining...

One of my favorite Bruce Springsteen songs is 'Waitin' on a Sunny Day'. Obviously it doesn't have everything to do with the current weather but right now, that's how I feel. It has been raining non stop for the last 24+ hrs and it is forecasted to remain so for the next 24 hrs.

With the kids back in school, it is not always easy to run errands during the week as I do have to be a responsible parent and do the whole dinner, homework, shower, bedtime thing. And so, I am grateful for the weekends. However, today has been a total wash (literally!). We did go out this evening as we had previously scheduled dinner plans with the grandparents, Lauren and her family. As we headed out, we drove past one portion of the Clinton River. It has exceeded flood limits and will probably be over the road by morning.

Our garden has reached capacity on water consumption and now looks like a pool with green stuff growing out of it. Dan managed a trip out there this afternoon to at least rescue the beans.

On a bright note, as we made our way out this evening, we drove past the Dairy Queen and much to my happiness, the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard is now available. Whether this rain lets up or not, I may have to make my way over there tomorrow for that tasty, seasonal treat!!!

Stay dry!!
