Son of Massosoit

This past weekend we escaped back to the hills of Metamora for a very needed respite.

Jared took the wheel for the drive up...

..however he was appalled when told a six year old cannot legally drive. The forecast called for thunderstorms all weekend but Saturday morning brought great weather so Ari, Riley and I took a hike around the park.

Time for a rest

Ari and Riley ran past this stretch as it was not to their lichen.
Afternoon Saturday the rain came down; we were unimpressed as we have ponchos!

Then lightning!!And ghastly apparitions!@

Actually, this was a reconnaissance mission, searching a good location to cast a line.. We found a great one but a fishing expedition never developed.
Sunday started a bit drier and the whole family made a trek about the trails.

A few miles in warranted a break. Riley was being bashful. Will disapproved. End of the trail the hardy hikers were still raring to go:
Requisite flower photos

Queen Anne's Lace (Daucus Carota L.). Because Ari likes it..

Dan just loves his flower pictures!
As Jared's mom - should I be uneasy with the fact that he seems to look so comfortable behind the wheel of a car at the young young age of 6???!!!
