Special

The kids' school has something called special person day. This is a day the children force their parents to return to elementary school, something my elementary school and I mutually agreed should never be done. But we had fun. Jared said his favorite thing to do with me was play board games - which is a surprise as I thought his favorite activity was removing and hiding all of my tools, then watching, quietly amused while I stormed about until he grew bored and said, "Dad, are you looking for this?"

Anyhow.

The kids all read a bit about why their person was "special." Jared said, "My dad is special." Then looked at me and winked. He is also a crack up. We then created a flower by tracing both our hands and taping the resulting forms to a pipe cleaner. Ours was colored black, blue, green and orange and we made a curly blue tongue. We believe ours was the only carnivorous flower of the bunch. Rrrrr.

And that was before the apple juice and donuts.

Then we absconded with Ari and went to the park. (Attn.: Ms. Rousseau. "Went to the park" = we had a very important dr.'s appointment.)
